Caprienzymes is a leading formulator of enzymes for leather processing as they play a significant role at various stages of the tanning process such as soaking, the unhairing and bating process. The protein breaks down protein into amino acids & peptides and makes the subsequent process more effective; while in the unhairing process, keratinase along with the protease degrades hair and breaks down keratin protein structure, making it easier to remove the hair mechanically and also removes non-collagenous proteins, fats and other unwanted substances from hides/skins.

Certainly, enzymes are miracles; in the process of bating, enzymes used to breakdown remaining proteins and collagenous fiber result in softer and more pliable leather and also open up the tissues of hides/skin for perspiration, which is the unique process of using bating enzymes.

Most of the blend enzymes are used in combination with conventional tanning agents to improve the penetration of leather matrix in the developmental process of finished leather. Overall, the enzyme acts as a catalyst to trigger all the process and, by the way, it replaces the traditional chemical tanning process with the biotanning process. In the tanning process, certain blends of enzymes are used to remove the residues present in the tanning bath, thereby accelerating the process uniformity.

The processed effluent is discharged after treatment from factory premises or discharged into the common effluent system and here certain strains of bacteria and fungi are used for the waste water treatment process in effluent treatment plants. Thus, the probiotics/ microorganisms help in the degradation of organic pollutants present in the waste water generated during various stages of leather processing, thus reducing the environmental impact of the industry, enhancing the bioremediation of the solid waste; during bioprocessing certain strains converts the disposal waste as fertilizer for the plants.

Enzyme detergents remove protein from clothes soiled with blood, milk, sweat, grass, etc. far more specifically than non-enzyme detergents.
